The Camelbak Relay is a water filter pitcher that utilizes a unique double-filter technology system that facilitates fast fillings and efficient cleaning of drinking water. The double-filter design removes many impurities, including Chloramine, Chlorine, and improves taste and reduces odor. The filter is made with plant based activated carbon and each 'Fresh Filter' lasts for four months. This double design initially filters the water when filling from the faucet and then a second time when pouring from the pitcher. The filter sits on top of the pitcher and has a spill-proof locking lid. The Relay is dishwasher safe (top rack) and has a 10-cup or 80oz capacity, and its space-saving design and size means it can fit in the refrigerator.
The BPA-free Relay pitcher retails for $36.99, and the filters are $12.00.
The family and I have been using a Brita pitcher at home for quite a while now, and although it does its job just fine, I find it annoying to use. It takes forever for the water to cycle through the filter, and the pitcher is somewhat large and bulky, and on occasion, it spills water while pouring. In addition, it requires fairly frequent filter changes.

Impressions
Preparing the new filter for installation was a simple task, and only required you to run water through each side of the filter for 15 seconds. Place the cleaned filter on top of the pitcher and clip each side of the top to lock everything in place. Once the top is locked you can fill the pitcher with water from the faucet, and it quickly fills itself to the lower water mark. Twirl the date dial on the filling cover to the current month and it shows you the fourth-month filter replacement.

I liked how quick it was to refill the Relay pitcher, and I never had to slow down the flow of the water from the faucet, which is something where most of the competitors fail. The 80 ounce capacity was just about right almost all of the time, though sometimes I wish it was nearer to 100 since I it was easy to drain the pitcher quickly. Of course, the size, shape and design made it easy to hold and pour, and it never felt heavy or awkward in my hand. It poured with a nice consistency although on rare occasions, it could dribble somewhat, and in direct comparison it poured slightly slower than a normal non-double system, but it was hardly noticeable.

Bottom Line
The Camelbak Relay is an excellent water filtration pitcher that removes impurities and improves taste and reduces odors. The double-filter design means that it can be filled a fast as the water flows from the faucet. The size, shape and design offer an ergonomic feel and easy carry, so there isn't any overt heaviness and awkwardness when pouring. The filter lasts for four months, and that facilitates infrequent filter changes.
I think one of the best recommendations was that my picky mother-in-law highly approved of the Relay and wants one for herself.
