Polaris has a long heritage in the UK, producing technical cycle clothing and accessories for over 20 years on the edge of the Peak District. Starting off in the early days of MTB, Polaris was keen to explore technical performance garments that were perfect for the Polaris Challenge; the first mountain bike orienteering event in the UK.
Over time the Polaris range diversified into all areas of cycling with its Road, Trail and Urban ranges. Polaris have released a new range of MTB clothing this year; and we have just received their AM Descent Short. Priced at a very reasonable £49.99, these could prove a very popular short in the very price-conscious UK market.
The new Polaris AM Descent Short is aimed at those looking for a good balance between performance and price
The shorts feature a 4 way stretch seat and rear yoke panel. An adjustable waistband with velcro tabs ensures good fit
The shorts have a zip fastening security pocket, with two hip pockets front and back
For hard riding, the shorts have zipped side vents for improved airflow
First Impressions:
These look to be solid, hard wearing shorts at a refreshingly affordable price. All the stitching appears very robust and there are plenty of pockets for storage. The fit and material used is a little more functional than some shorts, and there are more stylish shorts on the market (albeit at a much higher price). We are looking forward to putting these £49.99 shorts to the test; through a tough UK winter.
