MTB for a vertically challenged biker?

Greetings!

Been reading around this forum for a while and I would like to consult you guys sana (esp. for the expert vets) as to what would be an appropriate bike for me. I’m coming from a Folding Bike and would like to venture out to MTB as I would like to try out new areas. I reside in Pangasinan and we have great back roads and hills that I’m sure would be exciting to explore.

My approving officer (a.k.a. lovely wife) approved a budget of 30-35k for the steed alone.

Being a newbie, I’ve read in most articles that a hard-tail is recommended, but some friends are recommending to buy a used full-sus bike if it is possible to find one given my budget.

I am not in a rush that much as I would like to ensure I would be investing wisely making sure I get not just the best bang out of my buck but the appropriate bike as well. I tried consulting shops in Quiapo and other local shops as well but I’m not sure if they have the same interest as I have and after reading the thread by “bikoy888”, I am more convinced to get a second opinion here.

My problem is this. I am not just short (64” height), but a short-legged person as well (27” inseam). I tried the XS frame size (Canondale Trail 5 XS 27.5) and I have a few centimeter clearance. They kept saying “pwede nay an” but I’m not so sure about it as most say I should have more than an inch of clearance (also delikado at baka hindi na masundan ang one and only daughter ko) :str:

They say that XS is the smallest frame size they have and the one from Giant brand, their XS is even bigger. I refuse to accept that MTB may not be for me. I was hoping you guys can suggest a suitable bike for me, preferably a pre-built-ready-to-ride-bike that may be a new one or a used-but-not-abused kind? What are my options? Type of frame? Full-sus out of the picture? So many questions, hoping to get a clear answer. Thanks in advance! :)

I also took my measurements if it would be of any help using competitivecyclist.com fit calculator:
